Products: ARC H-50A Field Test Set
The Type H-50A field Test Set can be used to test and troubleshooot a complete Autopilot (A/P) or Integrated Flight Control System (IFCS). It is capable of isolating a defective unit in either the A/P or IFCS and to make certain adjustments to the computer amplifier.
The Test Set is portable and light weight enough to be used in the aircraft, and rugged enough to be used on the bench. Cable interface connections are on the front panel allowing the test set to be rack mounted, if so desired, using two brackets (Part Number 47858-0001 and 0002). All controls, indicators, and test points are mounted on the front panel. Internal wiring is all mounted on the back of the front panel. A U-shaped bracket supports the transformers and the printed wiring board for the ramp generator.
The Test Set is electrically connected by a cable assembly between the computer amplifier, mode selector, and all associated units. Power for the Test Set is provided by the aircraft power source or bench power supplies.
The Test Set consists of nine analog simulators, 29 switches for logic functions, an internal transformer, and 217 breakout test points. A front panel switch for each simulator can be set to monitor and route the analog signals straight through the Test Set to the computer amplifier, or disconnect any signal and apply a simulated signal to the amplifier.
The Ramp Generator provides rate signals at two selectable speeds to simulate pitch and roll signals.
The 29 logic function swithces can monitor and route logic signals straight through the Test Set to the computer amplifier or apply a simulated logic signal to the amplifier.
A cable assembly associated with each system capable of being tested with the Test Set will provide the proper interface between the Test Set and the system under test.
In testing some systems, it may not be necessary to interconnect all units of the system to effect a proper test. Inputs to the missing units may be applied to some of the 128 test points across the front panel of the Test Set via J-AB and J-CD. Consult the Service/Parts Manual for the system under test for the designations of these test points.
