The Type 43A Test Set is used to test and trouble shoot a complete series 400B (Type AF-550A) Navomatic Autopilot and series 300B, 400B or 800B (Type IF-550A) Integrated Flight Control System (IFCS).
It is capable of isolating a defective unit in either the autopilot or the IFCS. Testing and trouble shooting can be performed on an individual unit such as the computer amplifier, mode selector, control unit, actuator, directional gyro, etc. It can also be used to make certain adjustments to the CA-550A/FD Computer Amplifier, while intact in the aircraft.
